To create a smoked Thanksgiving turkey, the process typically starts with selecting a high-quality, fresh turkey. The turkey is then brining in a flavorful mixture of water, salt, sugar, and various aromatics such as garlic, herbs, and spices. The brining process helps to tenderize the meat and impart flavor throughout.
Directions
First, make sure your turkey is fully defrosted. Please see the instructions that should have come with your turkey to know how long to defrost. There’s nothing worse than forgetting this step!
Follow directions on the Battleship Brine Garlic and Herb.
- Add lemon slices in with your brine
- Brine your turkey for a minimum of 8 hours (I recommend brining turkey for 24 hours)
