This hearty classic gets a mildly spicy legacy revival with Texas Chili and Platoon Sergeant SPG Seasonings, a chili-garlic kick that transforms DFAC and field feeding nostalgia into a bold meal.
Scaled for 6 - 8, this 45-minute one-pot brings back those "worst of times, best of times" vibes – recall that MRE pouch on patrol?

Ingredients

Beef tallow
- 1 lb. ground beef
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes

4 tsp Texas Chili seasoning, or to taste
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 - can diced tomatoes, partially drained
- 1 - 6 oz can tomato paste
- 2 c water

Platoon Sergeant SPG
- 1 lb macaroni (elbow) noodles, cooked al dente

*Optional, hot sauce! Tabasco sauce was featured for nostalgia purposes, but we recommend Fire Chief Hot Sauce for a smoky, flavorful hot sauce!
Directions
Add some beef tallow to a large skillet and preheat. Also, begin boiling the macaroni noodles until al dente. Once the noodles are done, drain them, and set them aside.
- Add the ground beef and begin to brown.
- Add Texas Chili and other spices except Platoon Sergeant SPG.
- Continue browning the beef until it is no longer pink.
- Add the onion and mix.
- Once the onion begins to get tender, create an opening in the middle of the meat mixture.
- Add the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and water.
- Add Platoon Sergeant SPG to taste.
- Stir and mix well. Let it simmer.
- Add in the macaroni noodles.
- Mix well, and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Plate it up, and ENJOY!
