Ever wonder how Pumpkin Spice Pork Chops would taste? So did Pitmaster Patrick C. (@78smokehouse), but after trying them, he was blown away!
Inspired by a recipe from Uncomplicatedchef, he put his own spin on it by using Basic B Pumpkin Pie Spice Seasoning on pork chops. The combination of juicy pork chops, butternut squash, and apples, along with the subtle sweetness of pumpkin spice, created the perfect fall flavor profile.
Give this unique recipe a try—you’ll be surprised by how delicious it is!
Ingredients
- 2 pork chops
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

Standard Issue Salt & Pepper

1 tsp Basic B Pumpkin Pie Spice Seasoning
- 1 apple, diced
- 2 cups butternut squash, diced
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup broth or apple cider
- Fresh thyme
Directions
Prep the pork chops: Pat the pork chops dry. Spread Dijon mustard on both sides, and season with Standard Issue Salt & Pepper, and Basic B Pumpkin Spice Seasoning.
- Sear the pork chops: Heat olive oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and sear for about 5 minutes per side, until golden brown. Remove the pork chops and set aside.
- Cook the veggies: In the same skillet, add diced butternut squash and apples. Sauté for 5 minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Add the liquid: Pour in apple cider vinegar and broth (or apple cider). Toss in a few sprigs of fresh thyme, and cook until the squash and apples are tender.
- Finish the dish: Return the pork chops to the skillet, along with any juices from the plate. Let them simmer in the sauce for another 5 minutes.
- Serve and enjoy!
