Ingredients
-
Sausages, we used Cajun Style Cheddar Sausage (pack of 5)
-
1- 8oz Block of cream cheese
-
Bacon Bits (Made with Infidel Pork Rub) Option: you can really get creative here and use whatever you like on this step, we chose bacon bits but you can put boudin, prosciutto, whatever floats your boat
-
1- 8oz Block of Mild Cheddar Cheese (option is to use pre shredded cheddar cheese) You can use whatever type of cheese you prefer, Pepper Jack, Monterey, Colby...
-
1 Jar of Donkey Dongs; Our Bread & Butter pickles and Jalapeños
-
Infidel Pork Rub
Directions
Lay out the sausages on a chopping board and slice the casing down the middle, making sure not to cut all the way through.
Once the sausages are sliced, gently spread the opening apart and begin to flatten out the center and side so that sausage can hold the filling.
Next slice your cream cheese block in 1/4 inch sections and place the cream cheese directly in the center of the sausage
Load up the sausage boat with the Infidel Bacon Bits, cover evenly
Now you’re ready for my favorite part, fishing our the jalapeños from the Donkey Dong jar. Each sausage boat will fit approx 4 jalapeños. During this step, feel free to eat as many of the pickles as you want but resist the urge. to eat the jalapeños!
Last prep step, almost there!
If your cheese grater has a large/thick grate option, use that! Grate the cheese and load it on top!
It was nasty outside so we decided to stay indoors and use our toaster oven for this recipe. Set the oven to 300° and cook time is 30-35 minutes.
Open oven, put out that sausage, let them cool just a little before serving and boom! Delicious Jalapeño Sausage Boats!
