Cajun Roasted Turkey
Turkey is a given menu staple. No holiday spread is complete without a turkey (well, at least for us)!
Cajun Roasted Turkey is just like your traditional roasted turkey, seasoned with our Claymore Cajun Seasoning. A fantastic spice rub that adds a ton of flavor and some heat. This turkey recipe is incredibly scrumptious and boasts a bold flavor.
First, make sure your turkey is fully defrosted. Please see the instructions that should have come with your turkey to know how long to defrost. There’s nothing worse than forgetting this step!
Spatchcock your turkey (Remove the Backbone), we just wanna say “spatchcock” as much as possible because it makes us grown men giggle 🤭
Turn the turkey over and put pressure on the breast plate so the turkey lays flat
Let your butter come up to room temp
Season your butter with Pop Smoke Taco & Fajita Seasoning and spread the butter under the skin both breasts
Season Both sides liberally with Claymore Cajun Seasoning
Set your smoked to 300-325 degrees (I Used Hickory Pellets)
Place flat on the grate and stick your temperature probe in the thickest part of the breast
Periodically roll smoke on the turkey for 1 1/2 hours
After 1 1/2 hours baste the turkey with melted butter
Side note: If your turkey starts to brown to much tent it with tin foil
Once your turkey hits 162-163 remove it carefully and let it rest for 20-30 minutes
After the resting period, carve up and serve up some delicious turkey!
